The arched back of the fighter being driven backward — the spine a luminous ridge of impasto flesh against the void of the dark arena. Bellows renders the musculature not as anatomy but as landscape, the skin catching raking light. The vulnerability of the exposed torso in full extension carries an unmistakable charge.
